Why behave humans like machines and machines like humans?

To answer this I would say "The apple doesn't fall far from the trunk".
Wise answers have the attribute to answer one question and derive new questions. So what is the trunk, if all people behave like a machines?

Besides the fact that not all really do it, the trunk or the root of mankind could be a machine.
Or several machines. They produced different products and some seems to produced on Monday.

Why machines do behave like humans? The machines on earth are programmed and created by humans.

If you have only one hammer as a tool, you will see a nail in every problem.
Paul Watzlawick

Our tool are we ourselves. Humans are multipurpose machines, the material is biological and biodegradable. Humans think that mankind is superior and the only race of earth to be able to change the world to their own taste. It is just natural that as a result of their work, they create tools to reconstruct ourselves. Not all, only those that are able to.

Most humans always strive for running further. They know from the "Red Queen's Race" by Isaac Asimov "it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that!".

That's why innovations in AI, Virtual Reality, AR, IoT, Robotic, Big data, etc. are emerging and disrupting our life.

"The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air.
Galadriel in "Lord of the rings"

All scientific disciplines are combined to create machines that can run further and far our imagination. I believe that this machines will create a primitive human race somewhere on a  planet far away to answer one question. We know the trunk, but what was our root and how has it all begun?.
