Think big but pursue with focus on small numbers

Concentrating on smaller numbers can make a big difference on your motivation.
Example: You did already 2 kilometers is more motivating than the fact that 8 kilometers are left to run. And if you are near the end it helps a lot that you have only 2 kilometers to reach the finish line.
