Do we like faulty robots more than flawless ones?

A study "To Err Is Robot: How Humans Assess and Act toward an Erroneous Social Robot" showed that people’s attractiveness increases when robots make a mistake.

So we could conclude, that they doesn't need be perfect. It is better to be far away from it to be liked by humans.

If you ask me, I hate if bought technologies fails. And if I gave money for it, I am more upset. The participants of the study did not pay for the robots service. So their rating is more positive because they feel entertained by the robots mistakes.

We also have to consider the purpose of a robot and the severity of a fault. We would not be amused if we have faulty kitchen robot throwing plates in our direction when we enters the room.
