Tapering

Tapering before a marathon is important. Tapering means to reduce ten days before a marathon the mileage. During these days the marathon runner has the chance to recover fully.

So that's the way a man would explain this.
A women can talk about this content a little bit more. A man who listens carefully from start to end must have the patience of a marathoner.
