I said to my wife, next in the row would be that I would fell on my head. My wife said: "I thought you were already.".
Considering this I decided to run on a plain track instead in the nature with its iced and hilly paths.
Arrived I discovered that only 130m of the 400m round was snow free. Under these conditions I decided for interval training. 370m on the snow in slow motion and 130m like persecuted by a dragon.
So I didn't need to look on my sport watch, nor I need to start an interval training program. The course itself told me when to increase the speed.
Both pictures where taken on the same location during the same run. It felt like running from autumn to winter and back again.
Take away: While running you should consider not only your health status, the weather and path conditions. Be creative and adapt your training accordingly. Don't just stumble from one workout to another. |
